The 19th Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup organized by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda gets underway tomorrow with an entry list of 40 yachts representing a broad spectrum of maxi scene. Once again the canting keeled, carbon-fibre, super-maxi Alfa Romeo will brush shoulders with the polished brass and bright work of Ranger and Velsheda, from the J Class era.

A guest of honour, Paul Cayard was recognized for his achievements in the sport of sailing on 17 October 2006 at the Audi Sports Awards held in Rome's prestigious Cinecitta. Alongside fellow champions in golf and alpine skiing, Cayard and the others shared a bit of insight into their passion for their respective sports with well known commentator Kay Rush.

Travelling as much as I do, just sleeping in my own bed is part of my perfect weekend. Saturday, I get up pretty early. I'll go for an hour-long run with Poppy, my yellow Labrador, on the hill where we live, Mount Tamalpais, near San Francisco. Then I'll come home, make a cappuccino and read the paper.

As the official host club of The Black Pearl during its Annapolis stopover, AYC and its members had a unique opportunity to enjoy the Volvo Ocean Race. With a mutual interest in promoting junior sailing, Paul Cayard and the Annapolis Yacht Club Foundation teamed up to use The Black Pearlﾒs Annapolis stopover to inspire junior amateur sailors and to raise money for the AYC Foundation, which supports amateur sailors in the mid-Chesapeake Bay area.

Baltimore, MD- McCormick & Schmickﾒs Seafood Restaurant, located in downtown Baltimore on Pier 5, has been selected as the Official Restaurant of the Pirates of the Caribbean Team during the Volvo Ocean Race 2005-2006 Baltimore stopover before the race leaves for New York on May 7. The only American entry in the Volvo Ocean Race, it is expected that the Pirates of the Caribbean will have plenty of support from the home team, particularly for the InPort Race this Saturday.

Pirates of the Caribbean team finished at 0722 (local time) to clench their fourth podium place and skipper and crew were clearly delighted. When they sailed to the arrivals pontoon a crowd of supporters, media, friends and families were there to greet them.

The Pirates arrived in Rio in 2nd place at the end of 4th leg of the Volvo Ocean Race, and Zegna is here to greet them. The accomplishments of Skipper Paul Cayard and his crew board The Black Pearl in the Volvo Ocean Race 2005-2006 are the talk of the town and official supplier, Zegna, has organized a great event in the prestigious Rio store Ermenegildo Zegna at the São Conrado Fashion Mall, Estrada da Gávea, 899. It was a tough battle to the finish but the Pirates stayed strong, and finished in second place, just 30 minutes ahead of AMN ARMO TWO after the longest, toughest leg of the race. The Pirates of the Caribbean finished Leg 4 at 07.06 UTC, moving the team into third position overall in the Volvo Ocean Race.

Come un ragazzino insomma, anche dopo 6.100 miglia in pieno oceano e oltre venti giorni della seconda durissima tappa dellavolvo Ocean Race, la Città del Capo Melbourne. Cayard arriva pedalando disinvolto in bicicletta sulla banchina di Port Phillip dove il traguardo è stato tagliato per primo, come già per la prima tappa, da Abn Amro One dello skipper neozelandese Mike Sanderson. La barca dei quei Pirati. The Black Pearl, è invece arrivata solo.

The adventures of Paul Cayard and the Pirates of the Caribbean in the Volvo Ocean Race continue with the upcoming finish of Leg 4 later this week. As the team races from Wellington to Rio de Janeiro, the Pirates have had an advantage over the other teams. Thanks to Pelloni Parmigiano Reggiano (Parmesan), the team benefited from having the finest and most famous cheese in the world onboard.

Hoy a las 14:30 horas volvía a ondear en la bahía de Sanxenxo la bandera del barco "Piratas del Caribe", que regresaba desde Holanda para la presentacin oficial de su campaña en la Volvo Ocean Race 2005-2006. Las renovadas instalaciones del RCN de Sanxenxo se convertían en la base de operaciones de los piratas del barco norteamericano para su primera aparición en público ante los medios de comunicacin.

The Volvo Ocean Race added a marquee name yesterday with the announcement that Olympian and America's Cup veteran Paul Cayard will skipper the U.S. entry Black Pearl. As has been rumored for months, Cayard will steer the Disney-sponsored boat when the fleet of seven boats leaves Spain in November for the quadrennial 'round-the-world event.
