The Star is a two-man Olympic Class boat. First built in 1911, the Star is Cayard's all time favorite boat to sail. Paul started sailing Stars in 1977 and won the World Championships in 1988, at the age of 28. In 2003, Paul set out to make a comeback in the Star Class and won the right to represent the US in the Athens Olympics (2004) at the US qualifier regatta in Miami. Together with crew, Phil Trinter, Paul was honored to represent the United States at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. |
